Lashann Higgs jersey on him

AUSTIN When the starters failed to produce Sunday, Texas coach Karen Aston leaned on several reserves.

One of them, Lashann Higgs, scored 17 points, and the No. 5 Longhorns beat Sam Houston State 83 49.

Higgs, a highly touted freshman guard, produced a season high eight assists, matched her best with four steals and grabbed eight rebounds. The 17 points were one fewer than her best.

Another sub, former Duncanville star Ariel Atkins, added 12 points as the Longhorns (11 0) increased their regular season nonconference winning streak to 25 games, going back to the 2013 14 season.

Reserves Kelsey Lang and Jordan Hosey scored 10 apiece.

The bench accounted for 62 points, and Aston saw other value as well.

“Right now, the players that come off of our bench, those guys really give us really good defensive energy,” Aston said. “You really have to have that in [Big 12] play.”

Higgs, blessed with exceptional quickness, is still becoming acclimated to college basketball.

“What I had to learn is slowing down and looking at each option instead of going, going, going,” Higgs said.

Atkins, a starter last season, played 19 minutes as a reserve in her second game since Cheap Jerseys from China
returning from off season surgery to her right ankle. She played only six minutes in her first game back, against Arkansas on Dec. 20.

“Physically I feel fine,” Atkins said. “Conditioning wise, I’m still working on that.”

Shernise Robertson led Sam Houston (4 6) with 16 points but converted only 4 of 14 shots from the field.

The Longhorns missed 10 of their first 11 shots but warmed up quickly enough to fashion a 13 0 push in the first quarter and a 36 17 halftime lead.

Higgs had nine points, four assists and four rebounds in the half.

Oklahoma State 76, Savannah State 48: In Stillwater, Okla., Brittney Martin scored 26 points and added 10 rebounds, and sophomore Kaylee Jensen finished with 10 points and 12 rebounds as Oklahoma State cruised in its final game before Big 12 play begins.

For some reason, at least one reporter stretched Cheap Jerseys from China
for reasons to justify this expenditure by noting that Michigan produced $152.5 million in revenue last year and that it was cheaper than traveling to national playoff games. That’s a weak argument. It’s not cheaper than, say, walking across the street to the Al Glick Field House, the school’s $26 million indoor practice facility. The program is rich, but it is still part of a publicly funded school and therefore obligated to fiscal responsibility. If the Wolverines are so rich, why not do something for the university at large say, eliminate student fees that support athletics, or reduce dependency on taxpayer subsidies or fund scholarships for the disadvantaged? Or just donate the $350K to that new weight room for which the Wolverines plan to begin fundraising this year?

The findings of the Pepper firm concluded cheap college jerseys from china that “football was above the rules,” that “university administrators directly discouraged victims from reporting assaults in one instance, those actions constituted retaliation against a complainant for reporting sexual assault”; football and athletic department officials “chose not to report sexual violence and dating violence to an appropriate administrator outside of athletics”; football coaches and staff members conducted their own investigations, discredited victims and met directly with victims and/or their parents; “Football coaches and staff took affirmative steps to maintain internal control over discipline of players and to actively divert cases from student conduct or criminal processes”; the school did not properly investigate transfers, including their criminal records.

SMU in USC big dance

Time Warner: 47 or 112

Verizon FiOS: 183 or 683

Three keys to victory for SMU1. Win battle inside ncaa basketball jerseys cheap SMU has been able to do this most of the season thanks to big men Semi Ojeleye NCAA Jerseys China
and Ben Moore. But USC will provide a tough test for the Mustangs down low. Ojeleye has been a monster this season and can’t let the bright lights of the big dance slow him down.

2. Bench production Look, SMU’s starting five has been amazing this season. Despite having almost no depth, the Mustangs have been able to reel off 16 straight victories. But in the NCAA tournament, bench production can make all the difference. Ben Emelogu and Dashawn McDowell need to step up.

3. Play tough defense cheap colleges in new jersey SMU has been one of the better defensive teams in college basketball this season. But the Mustangs will need to bring their ‘A’ game against USC. The Trojans can score in bunches and have effective shooters that can hurt SMU from the outside.

Three keys to victory for USC1. Playing with confidence USC entered the NCAA tournament having lost five out of their last eight regular season games. But the Trojans came away with a big win over Providence on Wednesday night. USC needs to build off of that win and use the momentum to its advantage.

2. Win battle inside Sound familiar? USC’s frontcourt needs to be at its best when going up against the aforementioned Ojeleye and Moore. Ojeleye was the American Athletic Conference Player of the Year, while Moore has tournament experience. USC does, however, have its own star big man in Chimezie Metu.

3. High tempo As mentioned above, SMU doesn’t have very much depth. The Mustangs only have seven scholarship players on their roster and just played the maximum number of games they could have played in the AAC tournament. USC needs to play fast and wear SMU down.

PredictionIt’s hard to beat the same team twice in a season. USC is more than capable of pulling off the upset and once again defeating the Mustangs, but SMU is playing some of the best basketball in the country. SMU should move on to the next round and avenge its early season loss to USC.
